I just realised that I need to buy a cat.

All serious writers own cats. Small cats that are capable of making delightful faces and having delightftul adventures. Cats that one is able to write sentimental poems about. Cats that one is able to write about in offhanded blog entries. Cats that one is able to pose with for photographs that one is then able to use for publicity material on online literary journals. How the fuck can I be respected as a serious writer if I don’t own a cat. I need a cat and an Apple iPhone and then I will finally be happy. Can somebody PayPal me enough money to buy a cat. You will be supporting the development of an artist. You will be supporting the production of serious literature. The benefits are obvious.

That piece "Illustration" on Lonely Arts club was really nice. You like to write about reality and I think your writing is like reality in that most of it seems dull and unnecessary, but every so often, there's a spark. It makes the sparks a little more special that they're obscured this way...that also makes me wish you'd edit more and take your time instead of chucking everything onto a blog/journal right away. You're kind of a minimalist, and it seems to me that minimalism works best when it's been sculpted into an imposing, mysterious rock, or chiseled way down to a fine mist that coats your brain with shining nuggets. 'Na mean?

daniel, all my friends are jerks so if I have a cat I expect it to be a jerk too. I like that cats play mind games and are passive-aggressive. My cat and I would have a complicated relationship.

grouchoclub, yes, I like "illustration" but it seems too emo to me. Sometimes I put things on this blog and take them down because I don't like them really quickly.

Hey Conn, I'm curious as to what some of your favorite music is... and weren't we supposed to collaborate on some fiction sometime?
